Happy Holidays from The Journey!

Wow! What a crazy semester! Didn't it just start a couple weeks ago?

This has been a challenging and rewarding year for all of us! The recent pinning ceremonies of Surgical Technology, Practical Nurse, and Medical Assistant are living testimonies of the hard work and success our students strive for. Congratulations to all who made it through another challenging semester!

As the holidays come 'round, they serve as a wonderful reminder of our chance to be grateful for our families and friends and spend invaluable time with them. May you find rest, relaxation, and comfort during the holidays. Looking forward to next year!

Difference Maker's

The Difference Maker's event was hosted by the WATC Foundation and WATC. It was a special recognition event to those companies and individuals that stepped forward and made it possible for making the vision of NCAT a reality.

Those recognized were: Sedgwick County Board of Commissioners, Cessna, Boeing, Spirit, Bombardier Learjet, Rockwell Collins and Garmin. Special awards were given to two individuals: John Moore and Charlie Johnson (retired Cessna) who had the vision for NCAT and worked tirelessly to create collaborations and support for that vision.

Approximately sixty people attended the event held in the lobby of the new Gateway builing located at NCAT.

Skills USA Food Drive

WATC’s Skills USA Chapter is hosting a Holiday food drive from November 11th to December 15th to help less fortunate students and the Wichita community. Food can be left in bins located in every building on the Grove Campus and the reception areas at the Southside Education Center and NCAT. Please bring things you might like to eat. After all…no one wants an all corn beef hash or spinach dinner on Christmas.

Interior Design Students participate in the Festival of Trees

WATC Interior Design students decorated their tree on November 30 for the Festival of Trees. The three ladies spent about 2 hours decorating for the event. Most of the ornaments were made by the students.

The Festival of Trees is the annual fundraiser for Goodwill Easter Seals. The money raised will help them continue to offer their programs to the community.

Friday, December 4th, the trees will be auctioned at the Starlight Gala. The trees will then be delivered on Saturday to the winners.

The trees can be viewed at the Wichita Ice Center, 505 W Maple.

Pictured around their beautiful tree are Interior Design students left to right: Sarah Hanson, Andrea Breer, and Sueli Ribas.

Veterans Day Celebrations

WATC campuses at Southside, Grove and Comotara celebrated Veterans by putting up a Wall of Honor and asking all Veterans, or families of Veterans, to sign the wall in their honor. There is also a display case in the library at Southside dedicated to veterans.

Snacks were provided for the students in recognition of Veterans Day at the three campuses.

The Wall of Honor and display case will be up through November.
